The authors examine the impact of Poland's trade liberalization in 1994-2001 on the industry wage structure. Their analysis indicates that a decrease in an industry tariff was associated with higher wages being earned by workers employed in the industry.

This paper describes the labor market reforms in Poland since 1989 and labor market changes throughout the country's economic transformation. It concludes that labor law reforms have been eased by public opinion being favorable to deregulation; partially due to the perception that such changes would be advantageous to society.
