| When did Poland join the World Bank? Poland joined the World Bank in 1946 as a founding member, then withdrew in 1950 to re-join the institution in 1986. The lending commenced in 1990 when the local office was opened in Warsaw How are countries represented at the World Bank? The two governing bodies that make all major policy decisions are the Board of Governors and the Board of Executive Directors.
